 If the tail wheel pivots to both lift and carry the rear of the plow it is a number 2. If not, it could be a #2 or #4.  The #4 was much lighter built. Easy way to tell them apart is by looking at the wheels. If hub and cap is the size of a large clenched  fist and sticks out past the rim a good ways it is a #2. If the hub looks rather light duty for the size of the wheels it is a #4. Around here a nice one will bring $400 if there is more than one guy who wants it. Worn out clunkers bring $150-200.

I paid 300 for a #4 2 bottom a couple years ago but it was all painted up and in great shape.   It had rubber tires on it, not steel.

i started with a #2 plow and a wc back in the fifties as a kid. when the #2 was set right it did a better job plowing than the sc #60 something mounted plows we had but it seemed to pull harder. maybe the traction booster wasnt working right on the wc!  still, the wc would yank it all day long in 3rd gear on level ground which the ohio valley didnt have a lot of. in corn stubble it cleared and turned the trash better than the mounted plows also........
