Trying to restore father-in-laws CA. Bushings are worn and knobs on the shaft that ride in the worm gear also worn. Anyone know where I can get a good box or parts to rebuild this one? Thanks

used boxes on e-bay are very high priced. The PINS are available individually to replace - on e-bay and others... you can get bushing of any size from McMaster Carr online.

ROSS boxes were used on a variety of trucks / cars / tractors... There are a couple different "SIZES" that were used... Here is a reference.. You might talk to them about the SIZE and compare to yours.

I rebuilt the Ross steering box for my G last winter. All the parts were available through Steiners.

The G steering box shares many parts with the B. The CA box is unique to itself.

Good evening,
Sorry that it has been a bit for me to answer back, but was trying to find options. Not all I had hoped for, but some progress.
Oreilly crossed the oil seal for the levershaft to a National 340356.
I got 2 split bushings from Bailey International. Part number 20NU20. Unfortunately I couldn’t find 1.25IDx1.375OD so I had to get 1.40OD and turn them down in a lathe. Turned them to 1.377 and after pressing them in honed them to a nice slip fit to the shaft.
I couldn’t find the correct levershaft pins. Ordered some for a B hoping I could make them work but the part that would ride in the worm gear was too small. I ground the heads off the original ones and turned them 90 degrees and welded them back in. Definitely better than it was as they were very worn on 2 sides, but wish I could have found new ones while I had it apart.
Much tighter and consistent now thru the turning radius.
Lots of rebuild kits for smaller shaft diameters used in Jeep’s, but not for the CA’s.

turning them 90 degrees is an old Studebaker trick. that's what we did.
