I have a 190xt that is making a knocking sound in the torque tube. Pulled the PTO housing, hydraulic sump, and cover into the power director tonight. All of the gears look fine and have no missing teeth. Could it possibly be a bearing? Noise completely goes away when clutch is pushed in. Can hear it when tractor is idling in neutral, but is most noticeable in low range or when pto is engaged. Any insight would be amazing. Thanks

Noise at a slow idle with any kind of cab would be considered somewhat normal, or have we discussed this before??
Throttle up to 1500 noise goes away.

you have a tooth off one of the reduction gears. Pull cover where suction tube comes out. Might find a tooth. MACK

Had the cover off last night and there were no metal chunks shiny particles or missing teeth.

just out of curiosity - does the tractor idle smooth or is it erratic as in the gov washer weight retainer is bad... an erratic idle causes all kind of rattles especially if cab equipped as Doc sez..and the PTO is shifted in. IF the idle is smooth , me thinks you have a gear tooth or brg issue. - my 2 cents worth..
