 Topic: 190xt fan pulley wobble

Hi All-
Had the 190 out today, and heard an intermittent metal on metal noise around the fan belt. Turns out the pulley has quite a bit of play in it and must be enough for the blade to nick the housing every once in a while. My question is; is there a nut behind the fan blade that can loosen up? Any help/ advice is much appreciated...

Well, did a little more research and looks like it's time to replace the water pump. How difficult is this to replace on the 190? Looks like there is enough room to work on it....Thanks for the help/advice.....

Not a hard job, helps if you remove the hood for better access. Release tension on fan belt first, bolts holding the fan on may be hard to reach because of the radiator. Pretty easy to see what needs to removed. I would replace the thermostat as preventive maintenance while your there.

Getting the aluminum spacer off may be the worst part. If you have a helper to hold a heavy object against one side while you use a dull chisel and hammer on other side it should come off. Pulley has to come off in order to get to one bolt. MACK

I had the same thing happen to another tractor that I own. Of course, fan wobbled right into the radiator and cut it up and I had to repair that too. Just in case you don't want to rebuild the pump yourself, I had this guy rebuild the above water pump for the McConnell Mark (Cheap chinese tractor) and he did a fantastic job. He actually put sealed bearings in mine so that I never had to worry about greasing it in the future. The cost of the rebuild was reasonable considering I couldn't find a replacement at all.
