Hello,

Is there a reason why some air cleaners come out above the hood while others dont? I am restoring my 190xt gas and it has the air cleaner below the hood but I like the looks of it above the hood.

THe air cleaner extension above the hood was an option:  If you get one, make sure the reinforcement ring is installed under hood.  If not they can damage the hood.

The optional above the hood pre-cleaner was much more popular on diesel models than gassers.

Well above the hood was to reduce the dust picked up. If you install an above the hood unit, look at most 190 pics and they look to be cocked as they are not always straight up. You can rotate it either way on the mounting flange bolts through the hood and get it straighter.
