My XT currently has the box type air box in the front. Would I see any HP increase if I convert to the cold air, through the hood, style? Anyone ever do this?
Thanks!

doubt you could ever quantify any benefits other than less dust into the air filter, as its already in front of the radiator heat. does yours not have a precleaner and pipe through the hood?

Nothing through the hood. Just the canister in front of radiator.

The air intake pre-cleaner above the hood in dusty conditions usually helps a bunch in the air cleaner needing less attention. The temp of the air is the same for the engine to breathe.

Okay, thanks. I was under the impression that the, above the hood, air cleaner replaced the one under the hood. I didn't know it was a pre-cleaner for the filter. Thanks again!

The air is already going to be plenty hot once it goes through the turbo, regardless of intake temperature at the filter. You get bang for your buck if you can figure out how to install an intercooler.

Get an intercooler off a 7020, that's what I did. Really easy to adapt to a 190XT. You will also need the spacer for the oil fill neck.
