I've heard before there is a timing gear on the 190 diesels that the bolts like to come loose on, if so, which one is it?

On any 301 or 426 engine, I have never reused conn rod bolts. Anyone who does is taking a serious risk, in my opinion.

I can back up the Dr.'s statement about the connecting rod bolts, as I have witnessed several people's ploy to "save a little money by re-using rod bolts." Picture windows (as we used to call them) belong in a house, not the side of an engine block! Darrel

Even the AGCO ARP 426 rod bolts are cheap insurance considering the alternative.
