I read through the earlier posts about how to remove 190XT wheel centers from the wedges. I have not been able to get my hands on any authentic pusher bolts locally, nor do I want to pay an outrageous price for something I am probably only going to use once.
It looks like I can fit a piece of plate steel between the wedge and center and thread 3 bolts against it. Here is my question: Does any one know the thread type in the wedge? A regular national coarse thread bolt only seems to turn in one round. Yes, I did clean the threads first. In the earlier posts, Mack mentioned that the threads were different, but did not give details. I would appreciate more insight about these things. Thanks! |

190 has a standard 3/4 course thread. The 7010- 4w305 have the odd threads. If you put a steel plate behind wedge, use the thickest steel plate that will go in and use grade 8 bolts. Also oil threads and end of bolts. MACK

I tried a plate once and ended up punching an ugly hole in the plate and took out the first thread in the wheel. No real harm but I then went and bought a set of pusher bolts from AGCO. That was 20 years ago and they were only something like $3 or $4 a bolt back then.

I had to take a hub off the D19 years ago think I used grade 8 bolts as a pusher with sightly sharpened ends and a size smaller nut to press with and an impact. The impact jarring everything made them come right loose.
