I recently acquired a 1967 AC 190. The owner told me the pto did not work. I took the power director off the side and looked inside to find the pto coupler laying in the bottom. How do install this back on the front shaft and get the selector fork back in the groove.  This is the manual pto with the engagement lever to the left of the seat.

Drop the PTO box down and forward after pulling the two dowels. Get your wife out there with her small hand. With lever in disengaged potion, she can hold coupler in place while you slide box into coupler and on in. WARNING!!!!!!!!! DON'T MASH HER FINGERS.    MACK

The dowel (alignment) pins have a tapped hole to allow pulling them. The box will them slide forward after removing the bolts.
I think it would work better to put the coupler in the engaged position. This way the PTO shaft will hold the coupler. The reason it fell out in the first place is that someone removed the PTO box with the coupler disengaged.
