I just got a 180 and the tires are old, hard and cracked. Mine are 18.4-28 I found some 12.4-28 that are like new and only $250 for the pair. Are they going to be too small? TIA!

I have some 18.4-28's here that I'll make ya a deal on,, they're older tires on rims,, but I think they're decent solid tires, I can text ya some pic if ya be interested
I think the 12'4's will be way to small, they be more for a WD...

12's will be way too small for a 180. You need the 18.4's. Those were the smallest tires on that tractor form the factory I believe. Some had 30's

Standard tire for a 180 was an 16.9 X28, but the vast majority were the optional 18.4 x 28's.

I think he was saying that the tires he is looking at are 18.4 x 26".

One of the only things I disliked about Dad's 180 was that it had 18.4 x 28 tires. Comparable tractors (JD 3020, IH 656, MF 1085, etc.) came with 38" rubber which gave them more ground clearance and more "footprint".

Dad also had a 185 that came with 18.4 x 30 tires. Even the two inches in diameter made a difference.

18.4 x 26 will work, but you are going to give up another inch of ground clearance and less rubber on the ground.

Actually if its like the 18.4 X 26 tires on my 180 they are as tall or taller than the
18.4 X 28 on my 185 because the side walls are taller.Even tires the same size don't
measure the same brand to brand lots of times.
