180 pto problem.

I have this 180 that when I engage the pto it come back out. If I hold it in it pulsate back and firth. I need to know where to start to fix this

That's what our 200 did. I askd these guys like you and it ended up being the end of pto shaft wore where the coupler engages it in a way that it would do that.
What we did was got a shaft out of a hyd controlled pto tractor. We drained the oils and we went up from bottom with a colonoscopy camera and looked at end of shaft and watched it while dad pulled the rear pto shaft out. And put that other in and it works good. The others will shim in and say if this is possible for yours also

Behind the battery box down next to the clutch pedal pivot shaft is the PTO lever. It is possibly twisted and bent from abuse. As I said in a previous post (which you must not have read) the rear PTO shaft may need to be dressed up so the coupler can actually slide into full engagement. There is something keeping you from engaging 100%....either bent linkage or a buggered up PTO shaft on the front end or BOTH.

Shameless if you have the coupler disengaged it will stay on front shaft. But that's what we were afraid of, that's why I watched it on the little camera. When we bought tractor the pto wasn't working so were not sure what abuse it had.
