I'm getting ready to put my Allis 500 front loader on my 180D. I know the hydraulic pump isn't the best on them. I have to get the RPM up to 1500 for a lot of tasks. What is the opinion of using a loader on one?

Well, must have been "some guy" told me the pump isn't the best on them. You have no idea how many thousands of 180 and 185 tractors have or have had 500 loaders on them over the last 50 years. They are a good set-up if your hydraulic system is in good condition. I can't think of even one person who ever removed a 500 loader because of the hydraulic pump. Maybe your pump or relief valve has some problems ?????

I'm putting it on not removing it. I thought I had see a post by you saying having to get the RPM's up on them to get maximum out put. I know on mine I have to rev it up to get best performance. So with your post it confirmed it.

ANY hydraulic pump puts out the most GPM's at full throttle. If you run a healthy 180/185 wide open with a 500 loader, I'll bet the loader would raise from ground to full height in 3 seconds or less . Is that fast enough ??
