Working on a 175 no hydraulics, dropped sump no oil yet dip stick to left of shifter says full

Well, if there's no oil in the hydraulic/torque tube sump, you'd expect the hydraulics not to work. Hard to believe the screw-in dipstick has any oil on both sides of it after being wiped clean and re-inserted for an oil level check. I think you need to drain the plug directly under the clutch pedal, carefully clean the screen above the sump and refill with 5 to 5 1/2 gallons of oil. Then, I know it's full.

If you drained system for some reason and refilled, it takes a while for oil to get up to there. Unhook return line on left side to help vent system                    MACK
