8010 FWA power steering cylinder seal leak I have owned the tractor for 35 years and never had any trouble with the cylinder until a year ago. The cylinder started to leak oil so I removed it and disassembled it,resealed it. All the hard parts looked like new. 50 hours later, It starts leaking again so resealed it again. After another 50 hours it leaked again. The same seal gets trashed each time. I included pictures of new seal and old seal. Should the new seal have that O-ring embedded in it because that head with the new seal in it is a real bear to slide over shaft.

From what I see in the parts book, their is an o-ring on both sides of the seal, TIMES 2 (steer left, steer right...). I'd put some gasket sealer on the outside of the seal as an extra precaution (clean the oil off first though).

ovious ly the rod has to be messed up or the piston bushing is wore out or that u cup has been installed incorectly , is the gland damaged ? did you do all the seals o rings and u cups or just that rod u cup , no sense in not doing the piston parts when its apart .

I agree with HudCo. Either the piston and/or cylinder bore has some damage. A good hydraulic shop can help find out the problem and solution.

Man, it's been a while since I did one of those, but that's the dust seal. The rod oil pressure seal is inside of that and doesn't look anything like that seal. Where are you getting your seal kit ??? You've either got one piece left over or your kit is incomplete.

Doc and every one else that seal # 70272634 is rite from AGCO parts book and it is the rod pressure seal, the dust or wiper seal is # 70272635, Thanks Dave
