Not a 6080.  More of a 6060 - 8 speed transmission and non intercooled engine.  Doesn't look any different from the regular 6060s

Talked yesterday for a short time with the young man that does the research and videos for the auction company. This is an estate sale. The owner who passed away worked at the proving grounds. The family says there is no paperwork for this tractor because it wasn't supposed to exist. He said he looked for serial numbers on both sides of the bell housing and didn't find any. Is there a serial number on the rearends of the 6000 series?

There is a video on line showing them looking for the serial number. In a reference book I have it says for a 6070 the serial number was on the left hand side of the cowling below the clutch pedal. Was this a 6070 prototype? They show the cowling with the shift pattern written in marker.

It's not a 6070 prototype.  They have the 12 speed transmission.  The 6060 (like the one in question) was only 8 speed.

6000s had serial numbers in 2 locations:  stamped on the right side of the torque tube AND a sticker with the product identification number on the left side close to the operator's station.
