Hi Guys,  Have a question for the brain trust here.  I am over ridden with russian knapweed and am looking to find a herbicide that will kill this weed.  Have tried glyphosate, 2-4d among others and nothing will kill this stuff.  Any and all suggestions will be appreciated.

Also, I have checked the county weed control board web site and they recommend tordon and 2-4d, but tordon is very restricted to purchase and spray in Washington State.  I have also looked into grazon p&d as an alternate as it is available for purchase by anyone.

Thanks
Leonard

grazon is the way to sell restricted tordon for more money.   In your position i would reach a barter agreement with someone who has the license to buy tordon and mix it weakly as everyone has the tendency to overspray with a hand sprayer.
tordon works!!!!

Leonard I'm pretty sure I used dicamba maybe 2 quarts per acre??? I had 2 fields completely over run with knapweed and sprayed it in the fall. This year there was ZERO knapweed and solid grass hay. Unbelievable kill.

I have used milestone. Spray the weeds as they are starting to bolt. It get drawn back down to the root system. And it stays it the ground for three years. As long as it's sprayed before the flowers seed you won't have reach urbane. Don't spray where you are going to plant beans. Manure from cows that have eaten plants sprayed with it will kill beans. I get a good kill it's very fast I spray spots working my way down the pasture when I come back they're wilting and a couple days later brown.

I agree with Dave, milestone, spray at 6- 10 inches and smaller. I like grazon but as said no beans 2 years no corn 1 year. In grass / hay its ok . be cautious around gardens . don't spray if the plants are in a stress situation, best kill when active. There are some herbicides that are to be used in the fall after frost. Remember there are millions of seed there so it may take a year or two to get it. Good luck

Also our co-op is now blending grazon with fertilize. Last year was the first sold and was a huge success. About 85% effective compared to spraying. I think there is a 200 lb per acre minimum to be effective. Spreader equipment must be cleaned or designated for the blend only. I sprayed all my grazon and am pleased with the broad leaf kill in hayground. This is in TN, remember all states have differing laws.

Did you manage to cope with it? I have the same problem now and I don't know which tool is better to use. I used to grow cannabis, but I had weeds all the time. I have tried a huge number of different tools to fix this problem, but nothing has worked. I decided to give up this venture and switched to kratom herb, since for me it is much more convenient and reliable than cannabis. But recently a friend of mine offered me a job, for which I need to start growing cannabis again and I would like to prepare in advance for what awaits me in the future. I hope on this forum I will find the answer to my question. (and yes, cannabis is legalized in my state).

Does vinegar kill knapweed?
For me, the best way to kill knapweed in place is using a safe, organic compound: a half-gallon of white vinegar, (the higher acetic level of vinegar the better). Household white vinegar is 5 percent and will work fine, but 9 percent or higher is preferable.Nov 21, 2018

You can try CBD edibles, it has the same effect as the weed, but you don't have to inhale the carbon monoxide from the smoke which is disgusting for me. I mean this is what I am personally using for a while, and it works very well for me. In case you are interested I can leave you a link form I am personally buying https://weedsmart.net/product-category/weed-edibles-canada/beverages/. Hope you will find my message useful, and it will help you solve your problem. Have a nice one my friend.
