Took my WD45 to the Buckeye Farm Antiques show in Wapakoneta, OH this evening. Got it in line then decided to give the tractor next to me and myself some extra room, but when I tried to shift it out of first gear the shifter would not pull back to netral. So I pulled harder- not good, now the shifter moves side to side like it's in neutral but farther forward like it's in the 1-3 area of the pattern and the trans is stuck in first. I think I'll be OK this weekend and can get it loaded and home on Sunday if I'm careful, but what then? Any of you have suggestions, advice, or experience in fixing this problem and be willing to share your wisdome. Any help would be most welcome. Thanks TR

Lift rubber boot and remove snapring holding gear shift in, be careful not to loose the side pins. Look in hole and with long screw driver, aline all 3 slots then drop gear shift back in. About time to rebuild cover. MACK

After you get it home pull the shifter back out and weld it so its 1/2" round and 3/8" wide at the end. put it back in and you should be good. If that doesn't fix it than you'll need to remove the cover and reweld or replace the shifter rails.
