As simple as the WC is to wire, is it worth the $170 for a wiring harness, or would you just do it yourself?

At the risk of offending some vendors who support the site, it is not a bad job to do. Just replace one wire at a time.It will save you about half the cost, easily done in a half day. Terminals , wire and a tool for cutting and crimping are about all you will need.
