   What is the difference in a WD 45 engine compared to a D17? And which block would be better to start with in a WC project?

   Main bearings are heavier and I believe there is some reinforcement in the block webbing. If your club will allow, go with the 17 block.

    D17  head breathes better, better oiling, Beefier crank  with center thrust bearing.
