 Topic: ac396 & ac395 plow shares

Is anyone familiar with an aftermarket plow share #'s ac396 and ac395?
I am thinking they are weise numbers but I am unable to match them to anything.
any help is appreciated.

The newest Allis shares I know of are 387's but there probably are 395's and 396's. THose are the allis plow bottom model numbers not weise numbers. You'd actually have to find an Allis parts book the get the real Allis part number. As far as I konw 387's are the only share still in production but I could be wrong about these newer ones.

Weise has a web page. http://www.wiesecorp.com/ Part numbers don't fit yours.
Osmundson has a web page too at: http://www.osmundson.com/catalog/ They do show an AC387 share number.
Could be these or other makers made them for other plow bottoms. My plow bottoms book doesn't have plow bottoms later than 375 or 387. My AC 2000 Monobeam has 392 bottoms. I found shins at a place in Texas about 12 years ago. I was able to talk to a plow engineer in Kansas City AC works to identify the bottom. Not there now.

Thanks for the reply's, I am buying about 400 shares, shins, coulters, and landslides from a local farm store that has had them in the basement for probably 40 years or more. The shares and other parts are for many different makes of plows and I have figured out what plows most of the shares and shins fit with the exception of a few. These shares are marked on the back as ac395, and ac396, I just dont know what they fit and I am sure they are obsolete and not made any more. I guess I might have to send an email to one of the companies with a numbering system that matches these numbers and see what I get back.

In that 68 vintage plow bottoms book, AC offered as many as a dozen different shares (sometimes called blades) for each width and plow bottom. They differed in length, in the nose shape, and in material. Some were rated for deep suck, some for normal suck, some for rock free ground, some for stony ground. They came in chilled iron, hardened through steel, and soft center steel. That plow bottoms book doesn't give enough information to tell one share from another other than by AC part number.
Wild idea. I just scanned quickly the part number index in that plow bottoms book. AC vintage part number 341395 is a blade (share), bullet (Heavy Duty) 14" with four bolt holes that fits several incarnations of the 375 bottom. Part number 341396 is a blade, bullet (Heavy Duty) 16" with four bolt holes that fits the same incarnations of the 375 bottom. So the 396 share ought to be 3 or 4 inches longer than the 395, if the 395 is for 14" and the 396 is for 16".
Wise or Osmundson's web page may have some drawing details of their versions of these if you dig.

Your guess was correct Gerald. I got the plow blades home today all 400 some odd of them. I have some NOS 341395 and 341396 on hand already. I laid out the ac395 and the ac396 and then compared them to the blade with the same ending digits. The only difference was the aftermarket shares only had 3 bolt holes and they lined up with the 3 bolts that were inline on both blades. So the ac396 and ac395 will fit the 375 bottom but you only use 3 bolts instead of 4.

If you were to list the shares for AC that you have with their part numbers and applications, you should find many buyers on this forum.

Thats a good idea, I will list them when I get the time to go through them. I have many ac plows so I have to decide what I am keeping for my own needs first.
