 Topic: 1951 WD / GA engine designation?

I was tearing apart a WD engine out of a parts tractor today and noticed the engine serial number had a GA designation on the end. Can anyone tell me what the GA means?
I know PA is gas and I've read that KA is distallate fuel, but I have no Idea on the GA.

One book says GA is gas at 5.5:1 ratio and G is the same designation after engine # W101809 which would mean that block is from a WC?

I don't remember it completely but it was WD 279xxx GA, so I think that would put it in early 1951. I seem to remember reading they used a couple different compression ratios, where did you get your info? Do you know what the ratio is for the PA engine?

That would make it around 1951. The book I have is Original Allis Chalmers by Fay and Kraushaar. I haven't found any other places with the suffix listed.

That book just says high compression gasoline on the PA.

That book says KA=Kerosene and PA=high compression gas and that's the only 2 options for a WD. It doesn't give a ratio for PA so not sure if it's higher than GA or not? On the WC engines the Kero is 4.2:1 and all the gassers are 5:1 or 5.5:1. No idea if the book is correct or not.
