When I was a very young boy (6 or maybe 7) pawpaw had a tractor that I thought was the coolest thing I've ever seen. Now I can't remember what it was. The few things I do remember are it was diesel, had 2 lights in the fenders, and the part that really sticks out is the 3 point lever had a cast (I think) round handle that stuck out to the left of the lever. The color is no help because it had a terribly done yellow paint job before he bought it. I almost want to say it had either an Oliver or an IH grill. I can almost see it but can't really remember. The 3 point lever and lights in the fenders are what really stick out to me. I'm thinking more IH because I don't ever remember seeing anybody around here with an Oliver. You guys got any ideas from my rambling? Possible to have been a Case. There was a Case dealer that he traded with a lot.

I'm pretty sure the yellow wasn't factory paint. If so, that factory didn't need to be painting. EVERYTHING was painted. Emblems, data tags, levers, handles, etc. Thinking of the grill it could've possibly been Massey but what really sticks out to me is the 3 point handle. Think bicycle handle bar but bigger and no finger grips cut into it.

Thanks Dave. I don't think that's it because the main things I remember are 2 lights in the fenders and the lever next to the seat in the 4wd picture isn't right. I know those things are very much changeable. Also I never remember seeing any Minnie Moes around here. I know the 3 point handle isn't much of an identifier but that and the lights are about all I remember. I've looked through some pictures and I honestly think it's a IH 574 but I can't find a picture of the handles.
I asked pawpaw one time before he died. I said "What was that yellow tractor you had when I was little?" He said "The yellow one? That was a yellow tractor. That's all I remember"

I'm guessing maybe an old State Tractor - Painted Yellow and International with a Factory Canopy ? Maybe one those mentioned 74 type models?

The tractor I'm pretty sure would be an early to mid 70's. The year I'm remembering would've been 87 or 88. I know that for sure because he traded it for a new 1989 Case 485. The yellow paint was, I believe, safety yellow paint that somebody just smeared on. I wish I had more to go on but I just don't remember well enough to say other than the two lights in the fender and the weird 3 point lever. The 3 point handle reminded me of a cream horn pastry sorta

I was watching an auction video on YouTube and the guy was showing a Ford TW-10. I know it wasn't a TW-10 because that would've been way too big for him but what about smaller Fords from that era? The reason I ask is the lever handles didn't look RIGHT but they were closer than anything else I've seen. It also had the 2 headlights in the fenders and a handle cut in the top of the fender which seems familiar. Thinking maybe the 4600 to 6600 models? Does anybody have one they can take pictures of?

A Ford of the 7A2 series that would be a 4600 to 7600 with flat top fenders would be about what you're describing. Anything smaller would not normally have flat top fenders, but could have. If it had a 2 post ROPS it could be anything other than IH. Many farm tractors were painted yellow at dealers when sold to municipalities. I know the dealer I worked and during High School painted a bunch.

Thanks Paul. I distinctly remember flat top fenders with 2 lights. Wish I could remember more but I was 6 or 7 when he traded it. I don't think the yellow was a professional job. I remember it being fairly gooped on. Nothing was removed, nothing was taped. Just washed and painted I think. It was a safety yellow if I remember right. The big thing that now has me thinking Ford is the lever handles. Funny how miniscule things like that stick in your head. I've talked to the people that used to run the dealership where it was traded. That dealership closed about 20 years ago I guess but the family has opened another dealership. They kept very few records from the old dealership and didn't have any with his name on it.
