Hi all, I was wondering if a woods 42 belly mower, or a Mott d9 flail mower. Would work with a 1939 Allis Chalmers B.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. |

Many people use 59 or even 72 inch belly mowers on the B... I actually have one of each on two different Bs... The 42 may be a little narrow compared to the wheel rear end width. I have no experience with a flail mower on a B.
I did see a FLAIL on a Farmall CUB so YES, it will work on a B... but it was best at cutting the grass every week. Did not do a good job when the grass was 12 inches deep.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

If it is a 3 point, you will need to rig up a couple stationary arms off the drawbar to hold the mower just slightly off the ground...
If it is a belly mower, it sets offset to one side and the belt runs back to a set of idler pulleys and the belt goes up around the pto pulley.. |

About 30 years ago I made one of those cub flail mower into a pin hitch mower to work behind a CA. It kinda did an OK job, maybe it needed new sharp knives? I unloaded it at a consignment sale.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

Kyle, do you have a photo of how your flail connects to your present tractor ? Can compare to the back of a B to see how / what kind of modifications would need to be done.
