Guys its been about 20 years since I last pulled the injection pump off our 210. I cannot remember if I needed to remove the oil cooler. I was thinking I was able to wiggle it off there without removing the cooler. The old IT manual says it needs to come off, but I know they are not always accurate. thanks for any info

I pull the shaft and gear forward out the access opening. I don't take lines off or oil cooler. Just disconnect lines at pump. Just be sure to bring up the marks inside the pump first, will make installing a little easier.

good deal. Going back on is a little tricky, I slide both cup seals about half way on(proper direction for each of course) to get the pump into position still allowing the shaft to be half out the front. Once you get pump into place, but held back for access, slide shaft in some, then work seals forward, little by little until they are in their respective groove. Also, don't forget the little thin o-ring on end of shaft splines, it can be put on before starting all this. All these seals are provided when I do the pump rebuild, as well as the front access cover gasket.

I'm working on removing a 220 injection pump.  The front access cover needs to come off and then the gear and shaft can be pulled forward as an assembly without any further disassembly correct?

About how far forward does the gear and shaft have to slide?

as far as it'll go. I reach in and break the cup seals off so the shaft will slide into the adapter bushing.
