anyone have any interest in this? it still has the trans and ring and pinion but no clutches or final drive gears. i have all those saved separately. had a bearing go in the final housing so it needs repair to use. trans has welding on it from previous repair. machine ran and drove when disassembled. anyone need anything you see? let me know and make me an offer. it is heading for the scrap yard as i don't need anything more from it.

The shifter for both tranys is the same , a small stub shaft that the lever bolts onto. I believe I may have a 5G shift lever around yet.
The end of the stub shaft is easily rebuilt with a little welding and grinding to new looking and working condition. The cross bushing and the pin that holds shaft to bushing also will need tightening as well as replace the 2 bolts that go into shift tower as they wear inside bushing.
The lever it's self is different in the dozer is not offset much and after 90 deg bend, at stub shaft, comes straight up. On the 5 G it is offset more from 90 deg and bends out to allow leg room and be more compact because of loader framework making area smaller in opperators compartment.

dadsdozerhd5b : the trany and gears has to be worth putting on the shelf, if it is 2 speed reverse positivly as finding the gears for that is hard.

i agree about the spare parts but i already have 2 complete trannies on the shelf and this one has had issues in it's life as the case has been welded up. must have exploded at one time. one of the shifter bolts is welded in making it a bugger to get out if it is worth it at all. it is a single reverse as are my other two. i thought at least the 2 speed reverses were in the loaders only but they may have put them in the hd6, i don't know. my dozer has a 2 speed reverse from a loader. if anyone os interested in the whole tranny for parts, i will take a small (scrap price) offer for the entire tranny. it did move and shift correctly when it was disassembled. i kinda figured the 2 speeds were hard to get parts for aas i am always on the lookout for a spare.

All the other gears are the same just that the ideler for reverse has 2 sets of gear teeth and the slider gear that meshes from mainshaft.  Have a set of gears and shafts from single reverse on shelf also but sold last 2 sp trany I had .
