I became confused when I heard the
word 'service' used with these agencies.

Internal Revenue 'Service'

U.S. Postal 'Service'

Telephone 'Service'

Cable TV 'Service'

Civil 'Service'

City, State & Public 'Service'

Customer 'Service'

This is not what I thought 'service' meant.

But today I remembered two farmers
talking, and one of them said he had hired a bull to 'service' his cows.

BAM!!! It all came into focus.
Now I understand what all those agencies are doing to us.

That's funny.  Too bad it's true!  ha ha

Why is there never time to do it right the first time, but always time to go back and fix it?

Years ago I was talking to a woman at a customer service 800 number. This was back in the days when the companies employed Americans. Somehow in the conversation I learned she was a farmers daughter.  I don't remember what it was about but I do remember it had something to do with money.  At the end of the conversation she asked if she could be of any other service.  I replied that I felt I'd been serviced enough already.  She started to laugh as she hung up.
