I run accross a very nice 940 payloader for sale on machinerytrader.com last nite. It appears that someone has taken very good care of it, and spent a lot of time making the interior of the cab pretty nice. It's located in western Wyoming, and asking price is 18 grand. It would be coming to my house in a heartbeat, cept I am short $17,999.00. Don't know how to post a link to it, but I thought I'd throw it out here in case someone would be interested. It's an interesting web site to go to and put allis chalmers in the search bar and see a lot of neat allis construction equipment for sale. Darrel

Wow, that is one clean machine. If the innards are as good as it looks, 18 grand is a quite reasonable price. Heck darrel, I'll kick in a buck 98 so you only need $17,997.02 to get it in your yard.

Thanks for the link Dnyom. I am kind of scratching my head trying to find my Norm Swinford construction equipment book so I can look up some info on that particular model. I guess that until I find my book, can anyone tell me what years that model was produced, and is the model that was imported, or is it 100% Allis? Thanks for any help. And thanks for the money offer, John. It brings me so much closer to it that I can almost hear it! LOL! I really need it like I need a hole in my head, and I darn sure can't afford it, but the thing is allis, and all allis's need a good home..........Darrel

I have Machinery Trader bookmarked on my favourites list and check it now and then. Not that I am looking to buy anything but to give me an idea of what my D grader might be worth if I decide to sell it.

I am no expert about these but I am wondering why the back axle final drives are different than the front axle one's?
It appears to have the small 301 cu in engine in it as well, not like my 645B with the 426 cu in engine. That is in beautiful shape for sure.
