Looking to update cornhead. I found one that was used on a lateral tilt R52. Will it attach to my lateral tilt R62 without modifications. I have single point but new head currently does not, that really doesn't bother me
Thanks Leon B Mo |

Will fit right on - BUT the auger flight and fingers need to match throat opening.

Gleaner had a kit that you installed to deflect the incoming material over to line up with the throat and according to my parts catalog the cross auger is the same part numbers

Will he need to to add fingers to the auger since the 62 is wider? Don't know if that's even a thing.

I pulled the trigger on a 830 hugger yesterday. The dealer had it on R65, so I should be good to go. Thanks for the replies everyone.

Sorry my post was on grain table - getting old.
One comment on the Hugger 830's. We find there is a gap in the center where the auger flightings meet. We add a 6" piece of baler belt to extend the flighting on both flights. Question, does the head have the electric adjustable stripper plate ?

Manual stripper plates but that's ok with us. Once set, it will run all season. If it's a good crop, we wouldn't need to adjust at all from year to year. We have the lt potentiometers on or old head and have thought about putting them on this head. But my son runs the machine and in the past has not used the lt much in corn. He can still use it manually on really steep terraces, but we don't have many of them. We also have straddle duals so the combine footprint 17' wide with a 20' head work together pretty good. After looking at the snap roll knives on this head we realized how much wear we had on our head. And our gathering chains were wore out. We would have had to spend a lot of money on our head. We had feeding problems last fall with worn knives. We also had to weld drives spines on one row and after inspection, one other row had been welded before we bought the head in 2020.
Funny you mention the auger flighting. With our steel snout black paint 830 on the R62, sometimes at the end of the row or where there is more stalks and leaves than ears, the corn fodder would kinda just sit in front of the feeder house chain flipping back and forth off the end of the auger flighting until more ears enter the picture. I'll give some thought to adding the belting to kinda help push everything into the feeder house chain. Thanks again all Leon B MO
