Wow! Beautiful Job!
Tell us what all you did?
What paint did you use? Where did you purchase WC decals and steering wheel?
What would you do different now, or advise ?
I would love to fix my WC like that someday! thanx, LOL!

Mark, Congratulations on a GREAT JOB!!
The flat top WC was the first tractor my father sold. It was rubber tired when steel wheels were all around. Pop wisely had one of the workmen on the farm drive it in the demonstration. He knew he would take it to the sand to pull a disk where steel wheel tractors had hung up. As you know rubber works well on sand. It worked and the sale was made. Interestingly the Grandson of the person who bought that tractor bought a D-15 from us in 1962- perhaps one of the last tractors we sold.
Again a GREAT JOB
Good Luck!

Tractor has been completly taken apart. Went through transmission, did some tweeking on the steering . I took about a year to get this far. All the parts were sandblasted and primerd with ppg epoxy enamel. Used ppg base coat clear coat paint. Front tires are new ,decals came from Lyle Wacker who does a great job.I have orderd a grille screen from tony's tractors to complete it. Thanks for the comments . its been a lot of hard work to get it this far but in the long run it has paid off. I hope if the creek dont rise and sun dont shine it will be in Gray Tn. for the gathering of the orange along with my good friends CA high crop. |

Mark - good for you - it should be great fun showing that WC at the GOTO. Can you tell me what the two curved brackets in front of the radiator screen are for? Thanks.

The curved brackets are for the square cross bar of the mounted cultivators. The tractor drove into it and the curved lower ends of the brackets helped guide it in place.

I wanted to ask , how many oil filters has the members on the forum ever seen like this one has . It has a canster for the oil filter instead of the screw on type. Was told this was a very early feature that allis did away with. This is one of the few ones that didnt get the swap to a screw on filter. More info on this type of filter would be great because I 'm sure someone is gone to ask ......

Looks like it has the same spoke rims that my 42' WC has. Are those original?
