Parting out another B. Tin work is pretty rough. Tank is kinked on top but think it could be blown back out with air compressor. Rear tires are new! Rims have alot of paint on them but don't see any rust. Front tires look lioke new also. Motor is stuck from setting out for a yaer with muffler uncovered.

Todd, I know that sometimes "parting out" at tractor seems to be the best and only thing to do. However, when I see it is my favorate it concerns me till I think that through the sacrifice of this B others may well survive.
Take good care.
Good Luck!

Shes pretty rough around the edges Bill. I also hate to part out a tractor but it's better then going for scrap! The tractor was rolled over and he got scared I think and was going to fix it then left it outside with muffler uncovered til the motor set up in her.

Todd, email me about the front tires. I don't necessarily need the rims but if you want to sell them together, that's fine.

I would be interested in the front rims, the rear tires and rims and a starter bolt...

Todd, YOu know I always keep forgetting that these B tractors are pushing from 73 years old to 53 years old. To me it just seems like yesterday. I'm 76.
Yes, parting out a really rough B is the right answer. It will keep others alive.
Please forgive my chiding. Just hate to see a B bite the dust.
Good Luck!

i rescued three very rough, incomplete 'B's in a couple of years ago to part out, but ended up selling them to friends who wanted to restore them. They're well on the way to new lives!

Forgot to mention there are 2 inner wheel weights. The motor is not set up. When we took it off the trailer we used the motor to stop it and the motor was turning. It has a new radiator in it. There are new brake shoes in the box with it.

Barkey if you are meaning the rear pulley under the seat? No that is where the woods mower is being run as this has a woods mower under it. The mower is forsale also.

Todd,
Any chance the tractor is of 1940 vintage with a serial number that falls between 35502 and 43896. I need a transmission/differentail/ case with a 1940's serial number in this range. All I need is the empty cast housing. I don't need the internal transmission or differential gears or parts. Thanks in advance. and regards
Jim

I think it is a later date than that. I'm not real sure and will look tomorrow. Where is the serial # located? Thanks Todd

Todd,
It's stamped into the top of the transmission just forward of the cast-in gear shift pattern and the gear shift lever.
Thanks for checking.

Outlook6, I just went and looked. The serial # is 126379. So this makes it a 1954. Way off from what you need?

Also when I looked the stamping faces forward. I always thought you looked from the back. Was this done upside down for some reason or where all Bs stamped facin the front?

Danny I'd call you but the seat assembly is all bent up from the tractor being rolled over and the air cleaner top is pushed down. If you want I can take couple pics of the air cleaner and send them to you. Todd

Todd,
I've heard of instances where serial numbers were stamped "upside down" but all three of mine are read from the rear of the tractor looking forward (same oreintation as the cast in lettering "Tractor No").
Thanks for checking on your serial number for me.
Regards,
Jim
