I'd have to go somewhere that has more people, in order to make any money selling sweet corn. I'd have to sell a dozen ears to every person in the state to make any money. I think Eldon has more people living within 5 miles of his house than what there is in the whole state of North Dakota. Darrel

Yup, pretty good return on a half pound of seed....

at that rate of return, you could easily retire on a 50 lb bag of seed

I watched a JD cornheader sell for nothing at an auction (early 608C) and a jockey buddy told me "boy, that was cheap enough someone should have bought it" I replied "Yeah, but its kind of a POS designed header" He replied with a smile "now now, that doesnt matter. John Deere's are for selling, not for using. "

I think Eldon came out on top on this one. :) Time to go find a 8550!

Phew. Now that they've seen what happens when they pick on the Orange 1s I certainly hope they stay well behaved. Wouldn't want any more green casualties to the green sect of the herd.....

Actually the thing that hit me was barn kept. Have you had any trouble with mice? Critters love to chew on wires and modern tractors have tons of wires for them. Wondering if maybe sitting for so long in a barn something moved in and made your deere home.
Well I say regular maintenance, it's had an oil change and a battery or two.
Nope, no mice! I've already checked wires and everything, and nothing looks like it has been touched.

Creston-the 3pt doesn't work, off to the tree line for that one.
Maybe it can pull the pumpkin wagon at the fall harvest festival.
JD used to sell farmers brand new antique tractors, now they sell brand new lawn ornament tractors.
If the 3pt is screwy, stand clear as you know, dangerous. Ask the JD dealer what them buttons are for. The manual is online for free.

Yup! Just make sure your down speed isn't dialed all the way up or your tiller will make a dimple in the ground
Guess I need to do some more experimenting! Thanks for the tips!
