I'm from Pulteney NY right next to Keuka lake about 30 miles NW of Corning.

Hey ACJohn, have you seen the beatuful 185 in big flats across from the Dandy? That tractor is in great shape and I like the look of the 7000 style canopy on it. Must be a late one.

I grew up an a dairy in Fairfield (Little Falls) and some of you may have utilized my brother's mobile tire service (TStack Tire) for ag tires. Brother up the road has a dairy still and all of my family is still in NY; I am one of eight. One uncle had A-C ag dealership across the road from the state hospital in Rome (Stack Equipment) and other uncle had Stack Equipment & Supply (construction equipment) in Liverpool (Syracuse). We also used Urgo's in Frankfort for some A-C needs as being in the valley it was closer than running out to Rome if we needed something quick.
I will be up to pick up my D19D in March, and maybe the Terra Tiger I picked up near Cooperstown early this year. Work occasionally takes me back to the NE also and I tie it in to visits with family as my kids live in Kingston, Ontario as well.
Still amazes me how the weather can change as I drive north from Syracuse to the Canada border and how Mexico gets hit hard with massive precipitation.
Then there is always Tug Hill, where you can see folks with a 4020 on a snow blower just to clean their driveway!
Have explained many times in my travels over the last 30+ years how NY has some of the most scenic places you can imagine, but folks only seem to think of "NYC" when they here NY.
Quite the contrast down here in the Fort Worth area but I now deal with the heat vs. that old cold where I spent my youth.
Wish we had your rain this year for sure!

I spent a lot of time on the Tug Hill Plateau. My parents used to have a place in Redfield township. That sure is snow country! We would park our vehicles in a plowed out pull-off on the side of the road. Then we would dig steps into the snowbank & climb to the top carrying our snowshoes. After we got our snowshoes on we hiked on up to where we would stand looking down at the rain gutters on the cabin. Our feet would be about level with the eaves. Sure have a lot of good memories from that place.
Looking back, I wish that I had bought it when my parents decided to sell it.

I left my father's Delaware County NY dairy farm in the early 60s,.just ahead of the draft board. It never ceased to amaze me the number of people I met during that "service" time, and afterwards...  who only thought of NY City when I told them I was from New York.  Most had never considered or bothered to understand that NY is actually two States..downstate and upstate. I'm reading a book "American Nations" that suggests the development of two distinct cultures...from two different origins, which tends to separate us even today. I married a girl from the upper midwest and when her family/relatives visited us, many years ago now, I remember they were somewhat amazed at the diversity of our geography, the greenness of the countryside, productivity of our soils, trees and abundant rainfall.  Although this year it has been somewhat difficult to farm with over 68 inches of rain YTD, on the farm's rain gauge. We always believe our home/state is the best and that's as it should be... having pride in belonging to a community, a state, a region, a country... However, in all my travels, the beauty of the Mohawk Valley, the Adirondacks, Catskills, Finger Lakes...et al..  is hard to best.  But then, I guess you could say I'm a nut case as I don't mind the cold and look forward toward the "sharpness" of the seasons.

Guys, Not sure of the route number but everytime I go to goodriches in Newark Vlley  (sp) I go through west corners and there is a restraunt there(always closed when I go by) that always has a restored antique tractor setting out under a canopy. Usually AC. any body you all know?
