Well I finished my Ferguson F40. Not only is it not PO#1 it's not even the correct color for the Ferguson. My great uncle purchased it new in 1956 and when he passed away it belonged to his son. His son passed away almost two years ago and I told his widow that if she ever sold it to give me a chance of purchasing it. I can remember as far back as the mid 60's and this little tractor was red then so I don't know if it was painted by the dealer before it was sold or not. Anyway I put it back the way I always remembered it. Took about 13 months total. Next up is dad's WD45.

Tim, the correct color is a puke yellow. No other way to put it. Well maybe a baby crap yellow. I never knew it was supposed to be that color until I was stripping it and then looked for pictures on the web. I know the correct police won't like it but this is how I always remembered it.

I can't help but to shake your cage just a little. I think they look nice in Cream. Nice paint job and I fully understand your choice of colour.

Hey, it looks great to me. A couple of years ago a local club raffled a mid 50's model that was a beige or tan color, thought maybe it was a commemorative edition. Tim

I recall as a young lad around 1957 the local Ferguson dealer Watson Motors in Stayner had a model 40 and it was painted a light yellow colour.

Looks good to me. If it had the Massey Harris decals on it, it would be correct. I have a 1957 Ferguson 40 row crop that was red when I bought it. Repainted it maybe 25 years ago, red again, but am thinking of making it original again. First reason is that was the correct color and the second is that I hate to have any red Massey on the place if it wasn't that way from the factory. I do understand your thinking and support your decision.
