He makes me feel good. I bought a H-3 with blade, shuttle and PTO at a farm sale in 1991 for $4050. It had been on that farm for 29 years and still had originial paint on the tracks. The cutting edge has no wear and has never been turned. The seller estimated well under 500 hours. I painted it, reupholstered the seat, and replaced the muffler and use it lightly.
Nothing is impossible if it is properly financed

Ours HD3 is a1968 and has 550 hours on the meter,  with 6 way blade, PTO, 3 point and restored  several years ago.  I am repainting the tracks now. When I get it done, I will post a  picture.  It is a good little crawler.

Is the front radiator gaurd rusted through in that one pic?  It's hard to make out in the pictures, but it looks that way.

It has been on e-bay and in the St.Louis Craigslist, at one time he was down to $4000 in St.Louis but he thinks he has more than he actually does.   I did offer $1800 but he flat turned it down for the "Vintage" tractor, he has no clue and he also has no idea if it has any coolant in it or if it will turn by hand or at least won't say.

what is something like this worth. See them go for $1500 at auctions. Passed up a Haugh with bucket last fall for $1500. One auction here had 3 little JD 2 cylinder crawlers with blade or loader go for $1000 each

From those I have seen at auctions in mid Missouri the average here is around $3000-4500 running but in need of some minor work, a non-running HD4 in Montgomery County went for $1600 and change but the rest of the tractor looked great(had a rod bearing failure, pan was off).  In need of major work or not verifiable to run $1800 would be my top offer.

Paid $1500 for mine 18 yrs ago. It was rough but it operated. At his prices, it will be holding the dirt down in the barn for awhile.

about the time I buy one for $1500. Thinking I could make a $$ on it. I'd be sitting on it for a long time. Old tracked equipment is hard to sell

He listed on ebay, didn't even take the time to change the description, just posted the craigslist drivel, lazyyyyy.

  http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260644715248&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fshop.ebay.com%3A80%2F%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dp4712.m570.l1313%26_nkw%3D260644715248%26_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1

I like this part?

"This will be the last listing of this tractor this year, it is too expensive to list the tractor here on eBay, just to have 105 people watch it and only have 5 bidders."

Of course he could remove the reserve and it would sell at market value but he thinks he has gold.

"
A little fresh gas, oil, TLC and fresh paint I’ll be happy to start the bidding at 8K next spring, if it ever sees eBay"

Suprised he doesn't say "Like new" some where in the add.  Of course he does say "
The machine was in 'work ready' condition when parked." even though he wasn't the one that parked it.  Don't you love it!

Wow this is about the best forum I've ever joined. Come searching for info about a particular ebay item and it's all laid out in advance. I wanted to ask the question....If this crawler actually has a functioning rpm gauge....wouldn't it have 11K plus hours instead of 1K? The first rollover on the right is tenth hours...right? The second position is whole hours right even tho its still black?

The Ohio unit is a HD4 loader and is a better all round unit than the H3 dozer but it is not near the $7250 price tag either unless it has had major reworks done, I just let a HD4 get by me at $5500 it was in ready to use condition and sold fast.

I am still looking for the one I can afford and use.

I ended up buying this little dozer and an oliver cletrack with the complete pipe laying setup for right at 2000 and he loaded it with his wrecker.  The engine turns and it has good antifreeze and oil in it we also found the counterweight and the boom for the pipelaying attachment, it is really in good shape but I know and knew at the time it has alot more hours than the 1000 or what ever he said.  I now have 4 of the h and hd3s I wanted a dozer with the 6 way blade.  I havent started it yet but as soon as I do I will let you guys know.  also I will be taking the pipe stuff off to use it that stuff is big and heavy, Dustin
