Ted,
Thanks! I dont have a plan to restore the D14. Unless I really run out of things to do later in life? The D14 worked well plowing snow in our first big storm! Regards, Chris and Cheryl

Tadams, Cost and land dimensions issues were a couple of my restrictions. Yes they are never big enough! Very glad to off load the big shop. I do have too many big orange toys! Here is the 32 in the big shop living room, ![]() Just worked on a small whitetail deer using the jib crane. Son Adam is living in the loft for the holidays, and seems real comfortable: We have been making maple confections in the shop kitchen: The Ford F250 sets in the bay with the two post lift. The Allis CA sets in pieces waiting for a "clean refurb, and paint"! Regards, Chris and Cheryl |

Allis folks,
Well The D14 does not get used much or even started often during the summer. In fact I did not even take the chains off the rear tires! So a year ago or longer I took the starter off and cleaned and checked it and the tractor seemed to start better, well that did not last. The D14 has not been starting good at all just clicks and rolling over for a couple revs then stopping. I was at a friend's house and talking with him about this. He mentioned that the Solenoid could be refurbished. I felt that the solenoid could be suspect. So Today I took it apart. Had never done this. What I found was very corroded and burnt contacts. I disassembled the components, sandblasted them and reassembled, new pop rivets in the corners. Installed the solenoid back on the starter. The tractor started very well on 6 volts. The cleaning of these internal electrical components acts like it really helped. On to the generator and charging system next. Regards, Chris and Cheryl
