Will a header for a L fit right on an L3? My uncles are going to be needing a pickup for their Canola this year, and I found a 13' header with a pickup that came off an L for $1,000. Seems cheap enough, but I was wondering if it would fit.
The same guy also has a 1980 L2 with a 24' header he is selling for $7K, so I'm thinking he must have used this other header and pickup on it as well.

I don't know of any reason it would not work. MACK

Ok thanks...I just thought since they made so many improvements over the L's to get to the L3's, they might have changed the feeder house mounting brackets some.

you will have to trim some on the vertical member on the RH side to make clearance for the feeder beater drive sprocket and hub.
Or find a wrecked 77+ L/M header and swap crossmembers. If the guy had been running it on a L2 allready, I bet any and all necessary trimming is allready done. |

Gleaner: the properly engineered and built combine.
If you need parts for your Gleaner, we are parting out A's through L2's, so we may be able to help. |
