Well I helped do some work on a 3020 and the most ridiculous priced item on it to me was the piece of foam that goes behind the console for the fire wall and all it was, was a piece of foam and it cost a RIDICULOUS $75 so I don't think Deere parts for their old equipment is priced any more reasonable than what any of the others are.

In all honesty, does JD or CaseIH do better then Agco at servicing old brands?  I don't have (real) old iron so I don't know myself.
Dad complained about a high price for a new emblem for an MF 135.  I thought it was pretty good to be able to buy new parts for a machine that is 40 years old.

bowsers,
That's what I've been saying the next thing AGCO will "force" on people.  You should start a new topic with AGCO parts likely to go up on it so people see it.

went to our old dealer today to get a few things, he has see all the ups and downs of A-C and AGCO since 1959, he sees how they are looking at this world wide, but is dumb-founded on the fact that if they truely needed to let a line go, why not the Challenger, the orange tractors have been their number one seller in North America he just can't believe it, he also made the comment that watch the parts for the old orange go sky high, he has quite an inventory to NOS true A-C parts as well as AGCO, and over the last year or so he has got parts for customers through aftermarket or wholesale companies because the Heritage Line is getting ridiculous on some of the prices. Not to mention he also said that their parts catalog for the Heritage parts isn't all its made out to be, he told us that it seems like every other day something new is not available or has been discontinued. This move I think will not be for the better in the long run.

Keep me posted on your effort.  I've been in contact with several AGCO officials.  They listen but that's about it so far. No action other than to say they'll keep making orange tractors through 12-31-2010.  Going orange is going great.

Just thought I’d give you a heads up.  I have had some requests for t-shirts.  I know in advance I’m childish but your mama wears combat boots so there.  Sorry for the premature outburst just being a bit proactive I guess.  Anyway I am working on a logo or something like that to get started with and if you have suggestions I am open.  Look for the first one in the next day or so.  I’m thinking of something with the old 7080 shirt Feel the Power.  Also do any of you remember the Gleaner shirt of that same era “Do It in a Gleaner”?   That slogan could get a little risqué but funny.  I hope we can have a constructive protest with this I hope all the combined efforts are making impact.  I wonder if they have banned orange juice at the corporate office lunch room?

Thanks for your support

I hope folks running all brands get on board with this.  It’s somewhat a matter of principal and values.  Competition breads innovation and the lack of complacency.  Almost every farmer, custom cutter, dealer or employee of a farm equipment company has had to deal with poorly thought out poorly executed management decisions.  Whether you are a MF guy or IH CaseIH, CNH, Ford or whatever it’s a battle to show that we have dwindled the pool of choices far enough.  We have lost enough dealers and continuation of this type of marketing changes will not help the matter.  Manufactures want fewer dealers, consumers want more.  If you truly do care, show it write the board, remember in the time it takes to post on here you can start your letter.  We can have a lot of fun and impact with the oranges but the board needs to be written.  We have a way to communicate to each other that was not available when MF, IH, Oliver, MM and original AC met their fates, we can make a difference.  Tell your friends, if you are a fan of another brand post this on their mesageboards this is a fight for all.  Reduction of brands and dealers affects all in the farming community and our rural lifestyle do not go silently into the night.  Make sure the board knows AGCO doesn’t stand for ALL GONE CORPRATE ORANGE.

Thanks for Your Support

Yes we all know that A-C is gone like Fred said, and yes this is an A-C website, but lets not forget that A-C like many other good tractors companies help build what AGCO is today. I'm sure the folks with MM's felt the same way once White destroyed that great tractor builder. Like IG said its about our heritage and family farms, its still nice to be able to see a brand new orange tractor sitting on a dealer lot. It gives a man sense of pride.....I personally feel like.."look after all what A-C,Deutz-ALLIS, AGCO-ALLIS, and AGCO has been through at least you still can get an orange tractor some 25 years later" The other guys can't say that, other guys meaning, the olivers, whites, MM, yes their parts are still being supported but we all know that thats even starting to slip a little. Your right IG if it maybe effected more people's pocket books they might be a little more upset. We are kinda in the same boat you are up here in Northern IL, although are newest tractor is an 8070, what will happen if they quit Gleaner all together as well, we don't know what we will do then. My pride and heritage has been affected the most, keep on posting those comments fred...but it seems to me that there is more people on this forum that feel the same about what is happening just as well as how we all feel the same way about our A-C heritage. Yes Fred A-C is gone.....but lets help out and make sure it will never be forgotten!!!

That may be one or three I’m not sure.

Thanks for your support guy’s.   I was starting to worry that we had forgot that standing united we can make a difference in anything.  Also please if you are conferrable with it write the board the oranges are an easy way to show support and we can have some fun with it but letters to the board are needed.

Thanks again for your support

It is defintely worth the time.  Keep after it.  I bet some of the Agco dudes that have to work the shows are dreading it.  Sad part is even in a few years if they do decide to try and introduce orange all over again, the confidence level in them is shot for the orange fans.  I was at an area dealer today of another color and he even  thought that this is very crazy and was shaking his head. Just happened to bring a sack of oranges home today. LOL

Tractor/equipment color change has occurred over and over in the past 100 years, and the ag industry has withstood and accepted the many color changes. I can't relate to the passion of the color change of a French built tractor, but then I don't look at a foreign tractor manufacturer being the the decendant of AC, either. It's befuddling when in one breath we seem to be shouting BUY AMERICAN, and the next, VIVA LA FRANCE.

AGCO tractors are the decendants of AC, that is what Ratliff, Shumejda, Swingle and the others intended. True, they were not AC, but the next best thing to it. It was however the Allis Gleaner Company! Did that mean anything? The "just get over it" crowd starts to wear a little thin. As a very accurate cliche states: "If you don't stand for something, you will stand for anything". Apparently you are not at risk for losing a substantial amount of equity in AGCO equipment. There are some of us that will. What we have here is a German tyrant who clearly does not understand our market, dealers or customers and he intends to force his viewpoints on all. It is just like Obama, Replace Obama for Richenhagen and constituents with dealers/customers and it is all the same. We will force socialized healthcare on the people that don't want it, and we will eliminate the roots of this company and force our brands/colors on customers that don't want them. It won't work in the Ag business.

I think this is a truly magnificent idea and It would be great to break the Guiness world record for number of oranges in a confined area. Cover the MF and Challenger tractors in oranges - wish I could be there but can't make it this year!

I know it seems like a small insignificant gesture, but if people will write the board bring oranges to farm shows or think of some other way to be heard.  Every little bit helps.  Do not let them pacifie you with the BS there is a chance.  They want people to believe that it is not helping that its only a few malcontents when in reality its piling up, letters, phone call lost sales and maybe just a few thousand oranges.  Rome wasn’t built in a day they have dug in and it will take some effort but it’s worth it.  They also want to discount folks that haven’t bought a new piece from them recently or not at all, when in reality it all matters.  If you are restoring an old A-C or running an AGCO product you bought used or like ILGLEANER have a lot of $ tied up in late model equip. you all count it all adds up.  Look at all the $ JD gets of its heritage.

I would like to see them fail as much as anyone, but many people, dealers, farmers and AGCO employee’s will not make it through a failure even many of the brands are purchased by other companies.  Hey through a little effort at it if you are comfortable doing it.  It all adds up just like $.

A creative, well intended gesture to be sure, but a few hundred oranges will not change AGCO's business decision.

Yes this is the AC forum. It does make a great place to find others with similar interests. I doubt that I would find as many people that care on the red power site. I am sorry this upsets you so much. If it makes you feel better, I do have a small, but growing collection of AC stuff. Much of it I use on my farm. 7050,220,190,2 WDs,2 WC's, CA, B. We have 4 AC plows. I even have an AC wagon. I am always willing to talk about them, but this other topic is very important to me. It is also important to my farm operation.
I am still holding out hope that Agco changes their minds. It looks less likely everyday, and I can't find out what my dealer's plans are. I don't think they know, either. Even if they take on MF and Agco is gone, I will still deal with this dealer, but there won't be a massey on my farm. This dealer has other brands to choose from. If Agco goes away we will be done with Gleaner as well. This same dealer handles New Holland, and they do a good job with them, too. So many people are complacent on this, when they could be making a difference. We could sure use your help.
If it weren't for the last minute, I wouldn't get anything done!

I bought a Sunflower drill because of AGCO orange tractors.  I WAS planning on buying Hesston hay equipment because of AGCO orange tractors but now I'm looking elsewhere.  If AGCO was still making orange tractors I know I'd have one more sitting in my shed right now that I really like but won't get because their dumping orange.  If I can get a decent deal on my RT100A I'll trade it off for something else which looks like either Kubota or New Holland at this point because their not making orange tractors.  I don't want AGCO to survive unless their going to make orange tractors and their firm in their decision not to.

I may be psycho but I know I'm not the only one.  Plenty of farmers bought AGCO Allis tractors just because they were orange and represented the AC heritage.  They built AGCO off from those farmers and I'm sure a lot of them will be gone too.  I doubt very seriously if AGCO will survive in North America and I honestly hope they don't and sell the heritage brands off to people who will honor them.

Yes. AC is gone. Agco doesn't need to be. I am a farmer, and I want to be able to depend on Agco machinery for the long haul. This isn't just about collectors being upset. This is about producers needing access to orange machinery, parts and service. AC is gone. We get it. I am fighting for the survival of Agco.

Hey Fred you have said that everytime this is brought up. We arent talking about Allis Chalmers tractors,we are talking about Agcos. Its about the heritage of our farms, the ones of us that still activily buy new products, not just parts. Its our living ,not a hobby. I probably have a half a million in equipment that is being effected by this desicion, a bunch of old tractors.
