Following on the sourcing of injection nozzles

1.  I've not got anything back re sourcing from Germany or my other query
2.  I've just noticed that a smallish Case loader (6 cylinder engine) seems to have an engine with what looks like Lanova heads - horizontal injectors with plugs on the opposite side of the head.

So, if Case (or any other Lanova user) happened to use American Bosch injectors, their nozzles ought to have the right spray pattern for an Allis Lanova engine.

3.  This is a SWAG and I could well be wrong.  And, if not, can you still get their nozzles?

Thoughts appreciated, information would be better.

they may just be 12SD12 nozzles. Many different companies offer that nozzle.

With a handle like that I'll have to widen the discussion and hope!

We have brought back from the dead an AC "Forty Five" grader.  Runs good enough for ranch purposes, but needs a squirt of ether cold or hot to start.   So the pump head is suspect - the rest of it seems fine as we had to go inside and look when chasing a diesel leak and other issues.

The pump is an American Bosch PSB 6a 100EH, and of doubtful parts supply.

I've heard twice now that there is a later pump from an IH wheel tractor that can be adapted, but have not got any leads on what tractor and what model pump.  I'm guessing that the tractor would be about 120hp and probably has the injection pipe connections splayed out rather than vertical.  I walked past one set up like this in a wreckers once, but was chasing other parts and didn't explore more.

TIA

The pump for an IH you are referring to is a model 100, later version of a psb basically. The outlets are splayed, but the pipes are also a different design at the ends. The IH pump is on left side of engine, a 516 is also right? The 8000 series AC ag tractors also used a model 100, but mounted on right side of engine. If it runs ok with ether, then I'd use it as is. Those old psb heads can be remanufactured, we've had a few done, takes quite a while.

Thanks very much!  Now I know.

I asked a lot of questions re the pump we got.  It is likely a mix of bits.  The pump says is a 90 EH (9mm plunger) which likely came off a HD 11 by the speeds on the spec plate.  After time on the books of these, it seems  Allis chopped and changed 9and 10mm plungers and 28 and 32 degree timing.  I can't actually say what the head we're using is , as it has the middle 2 numbers mangled, and I'm not going to strip it again just to measure the plunger.  The ADS -516 (supercharged) was 10mm and 28 degrees.

We got the pump on a never-used short motor out of a liquidation sale, and found it was missing the o-ring under the head and was timed one tooth out (which meant the plunger was hydraulic locking before the distributor slot opened -  it started that way, probably from the jolt, but I figure not good for things in the long term).  And had a burr on the spill valve shaft that caused it to die when it came back to idle - that took our diesel apprentice son about a day to track down.  The lock wires were nice and shiny though!

Yes, the 516 pump is on the left, and I'll just keep using ether for now.  One contact has connections that can import those IH pumps with adapter kits for Allis.  (I'm in Australia.)

Are parts still available for these 100's?

Both the heads we have have been rebuilt - can they be done again?  The old one had the injectors wound well down on pressure and won't crack them at correct settings.

But if I know the answers I might be able to do better along the way.

Thanks again
