I have a late 68 3pt and pto 21, Is my tractor suposed to have a tach drive alternator as the hole in the block for the tach drive is pluged and there is a tach in the dash but the alt has been replaced, also my pre cleaner is short compared to other ones I have seen is this correct for my tractor and my tractor has an air research TO4 turbo on it that needs replaced is this the correct turbor for my tractor,  I know that some come with the trw or rayjay but what should mine have come with being a late 68,  I am sure that i will have more questions soon and if you can answer any of these thanK you , Dustin

I would always go with the latest design turbo to fit.Lot of improvements over the years.Look in www.agcopartsbooks.com for tach setup.

your tach should be driven off the block, newer engines used a alt driven tach, like 210 220, someone probly has replaced your block, i believe the newer block is a 3500 series older block was a 3400 series

its a series 2 so it is the 3500

yeah i should of caught that, you probly have a newer 3500 series though like whats in the 210, i had same issue with my D-21, i ended up having macine shop make a gear drive in the block for my tach so it looks original, i did use the alt drive for awhile though

I looked on the agco website and it shows that it could be with tach drive alt but I dont know if that is true or not and the tach cable is quite long, long enough to be driven off the alt and too long for, or atleast really long for the block
