Does the wire screen look long enough on this air cleaner cap to be original? Or has it been torn off at the bottom?

 
Thanks! I have never seen one in person yet, so I am not sure.

The air cap your are talking about was used on the mounted corn pickers.  We had one on our WD 45 as well as a metal sediment bowl so the glass would not break and cause a fire when ears hit the sediment bowl during harvest.  I have seen two styles of these, one style has the screen just a tad bit longer.
