I bought a 28 Chevy one ton from a farmer in Indiana. From information found in the truck it lived in Missouri before that and according to the VIN was manufactured in Missouri.
In any case, there is a number on the doors. 2-30-500. Anyone have a guess as to what that is?

Well, now that the number mystery is solved do we get to see the rest of the truck? Are you restoring it? Do we get to see your progress? I think we are curious.

The Chevrolet Truck Plant was between Goodfellow and Kingshighway in N St Louis on Union, just south of Jennings City.

Made GM Bodies in the 1920s as Fischer Body.  In grade School 1960s we got to take a Plant tour there before closed completely in the 1980s.

Well, I have posted pics here previously, but I will be happy do so again. My intention was not to restore, but rathe preserve as is, but the 'not so great' state of Pa. has decided to no longer issue Antique plates unless the vehicle is totally restored. So, unless I can convince the powers that be otherwise, I may have to restore.

I did repair the fuel pump and removed the Farmall tank. And, no matter what, I will strip the paint off the bed and some sort of clear coat on it.

Re-do the bed and power polish the sheet metal and call it restored!!  Easiest and best restoration you could do to a truck that looks that good!
