OK, '53 CA compression check

130/160, 80/100, 75/85, and 140/150 or 160 I forgot to write that one down
I'm not concerned about the dry/wet values, but what are the odds the no 2 and 3 issue is a head gasket?

well, that is my concern too! although, I don't see any oil in the antifreeze, or visaversa. we shall soon see, I'll pull the head when it quits raining

If it is a head gasket you most likely have other problems that would cause it. These are not prone to head gasket problems if properly torqued.

ya, that's what I suspect, but was hoping something simple. I'll know when it stops raining, I have an open air garage!

well, good news, the block is happy, no cracks in web between 2 and 3.
gasket also intact. exhaust valve in no 2 cracked. so far, no obvious reason for low compression on no 3, but the lights were growing dim quickly in my open air garage , so I'll pick up tomorrow, weather permitting.

question, is the head o a C the same as on the CA?
