   A couple of recent threads got me thinking about this.

How do you actually use it on a 45?  It is my understanding that you raise the lever until the TB gauge budges and leave it alone.  Is this correct?  When I do that my plow just keeps creeping up slowly.  I always thought that my pump was leaking internally and that's why this happened.  Am I not doing something right or do I actually have an issue?

Can anyone help me understand this so I get it set up right?

	If traction permits, plow with hydraulic lever fully down.

	If linkage and plow is set right they will work good with lever set to depth you want to plow. MACK

	So set the depth using the plows adjustment and the TB, if set up correctly, will take over after that with the lever all the way down?

	With the plow set right,you can run the lever all the way down in good footing.When you hit the clay spot yer going to have to bump it up or kill the tractor.A thumb width below the lever is what I used to use.In light draft the TB isn't doing anything but when the tuff spot shows up it's ready.Don't have a gauge so I can't speak to that.It sounds cool but can't see the need since you work it by feel anyway.When it gets tougher than the thumb setting ya just raise it as much as need to get through.I don't think watching a gauge can make it more practical/effecient.The drawbar linkage needs to be right and the # of washers on the big spring needs to be set for the load your pulling.When I put a 4 bttm on my 45 I couldn't keep it in the ground with the lever all the way down.Had to remove some washers.(I think...30yrs ago)

	With the pump setup for drawbar control........all plow adjustments..width of cut, winging, depth, done with the lift/ lower set at bottom of quadrant. When this is finished, then use the lift/lower, move up to just under any lift action point in a good plowing area. Then you might have to slightly tweak when you get to the tiger s**t area to keep moving. After a little practice you will get the feel when it is working for you. You don't have to have a nice TB gauge to see it working, as an inexpensive hydraulic pressure connected (5000 lb psi)will work just as well. Tractor should be weighted to pull in your normal areas, TB set at threshold to add when needed. If you are watching a TB gauge set to float between the second and third block at normal; it takes very little pressure to show in that area.
