I made this with a program called "iMovie" on my smart phone. It took a while to figure out, but I made it work. It's kind of a "music video" with pictures and films all together. Don't expect much, as it's nowhere near expert quality. This is just the 2nd video I've ever made like this.
A good friend (the guy who is largely responsible for kindling my interest in old Allis) let me come over and shine my Oliver 2-12 up behind my B yesterday. He also got his Minneapolis Moline GB out and made a few rounds with a Case 4 bottom. A few months ago the idea was to have a big plow day with about 8 people bringing tractors, but that kind of fell apart at the last minute. We both had fun today, though. I used the photos and videos I took and compiled them into this video. Hope you guys enjoy it. Thanks The ground had the right moisture for plowing, but even so, this field plows like asphalt. Everyone was really impressed the B handled as well as it did. The poor girl pulled her heart out, and most of the time it was enough, but there were several times I had to back up and hit it again to get through tough spots. That soil doesn't turn over nicely, it just breaks up into big chunks. Like hitting concrete with a jackhammer. The GB never did struggle much, as it could probably pull a 5 bottom in that soil. Even still, it was a really rough ride on both tractors. My buddy told me if this were "normal" field soil, my B would just walk with that Oliver plow buried. I had it about halfway in the ground today, when it would go in the ground. Sometimes when I would trip it, the bottoms would just slide on the ground for 20 or 30 feet before slowly beginning to dig in, but once they were in, they tended to stay there. Once, the GB hit a tough spot, and the front end hit a big clod, causing the front end to buck up a little bit, and the tractor jerked to the right. That tractor has weights all over it, so you can figure how hard plowing this ground is!

Thanks for the video. There's nothing like the smell of soil turning over. Every time I smell it makes me smile as I remember our WD-45 pulling that 3 bottom in third gear. Muffler was the prettiest red after dark ...

I remember plowing with dad's POS green plow, if the ground wasn't completely bare on top, it would plug up!

If by "stuck" you mean "can't move", I almost did! You see, that Moline can plow a lot deeper than me. My belly mower got high centered once because of the deep furrow, and stopped me. Luckily I was able to back up and hit it again and keep going. Lol

I hope by green you mean Deere and not Oliver! ![]() The guy with the MM said his dad used to have a Deere plow when he was growing up, and he said that thing was junk. The 4 bottom Case plow he was using in the video doesn't have very good trash clearance either. It likes to plug every now and then.
