Borrowed a friends meat grinder to process venison.  It did not sound perfect when I cranked it up but worked.  Toward the end of my processing the thing went south in the bearing/bushing in the drive end must have gave out.  I want to replace it but have yet to find one that has a straight 1/2 inch shaft on the end for the pulley to fit on.  Anyone been there/done that and found a source for one with a straight shaft as opposed to the normal ones that have the tapers on the shaft that the crank normally mounts?  thanks

Dave H, sorry you’re having difficulty. Should be a more pleasant experience - right? Please provide more info. What’s the brand, model of the meat grinder in question?

X2 on make/model, plus pictures would help. You may be able to find a replacement bearing/bushing at a bearings and drives supply. Hobart parts are still available for older models but Hobart = expensive. Is this grinder factory or a modified unit? Best of luck on finding what you need.

could be a manual grinders that had a handle... so the shaft might have been taken out and turned down to 1/2 inch  on the lathe to accept a pulley......... better option is a new grinder with combined motor.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.
