The steering went out on my 8050 last year while plowing snow. It arm strong steering until I touch the brake pedals and then steering tries to work. Ram has been OH'd. Pump and filters are OK including load compinsator valve. Pressures are good. The only change that I have noticed is on my Black Bellies there is a buzz from the valves under the the seat(remotes etc) that is no longer heard. My 7020 & 8030 still have the very mild buzz and they steer fine. What am I missing. I have the AC service manual and it shows no steering oil in that area. TIA

One time I changed out the filters on the sides of the rear end on my 8030 and forgot to put the metal end piece that goes on the inside of the filter back on the new filter. I'm thinking it was the left side. I had the exact same problem. That piece unseats the check valve to allow oil flow I believe to the filter and to keep all the oil from draining out of the rearend when changing filters from what I understand. just a thought. Does the 3pt and remotes work ok? There is a flowdivider on the gear pump that could be stuck. Also have you had the gear pump apart? It could have broken a gear or internal failure and the rest of the system work. MACK

Everything hydraulic works except the steering, the brakes try to activate the steering with just a light touch to them not a hard one. The lack of that buzz makes me think a valve is stuck back in the remote stack area. But the flow chart shows with the steering has anything in that area. The two MF/Gleaner dealers about 50 miles of me will only tell me to bring it in. It drives fine, just no tight turns, brake touch won't allow that either. TIA
