You are right about the smell of an old Mack..thermodyne, I think....Worked for a paving co. in 1970 that used one to pull the lowboy around . 2 stick tranny and some kind of chromed bird replaced the bulldog on the hood. It had character and guts for sure. That smell and the black cloud rolling starting off.....remember that for sure.

Same here, I like the sound of cold starting the diesel trucks and tractors. The gas tractors have a really good sound as well. In terms of smell, nothing smells like that first big cloud of smoke that comes out the stack when you start the tractor in the barn.

I like the smell of a warm barn on winter days, of fresh manure when it is being spread, but the best has to be the smell of fresh cut hay.
