I have the cross shaft and vertical center plate with casting on each side setting on the floor. (3-14 span coupler plow). Has a 1/2 inch square set screw in the casting tight against the shat. I have the screw out and the castings and plate dont want to move on the shaft. Do they screw together or ??? Plate appears to be mounted between two castings and neither is moving.

Kroil, PB Blaster, or a 50/50 mix of acetone and atf accompanied by heat and shock. Let one of the penetration brews soak a while before getting noisy. To add to the tightness besides rust, its likely the set screw pushed up a bur in the hole.

Just like Gerald said and then put the heat to it. If you have a rosebud use it.

The parts pictures I looked at in my plow frames book showed only that set screw in the collar between plates, nothing for the cast flange with the three bolts through the plates. Though I could envision another set screw there in some versions. What model plow is it? That might affect the picture I should have looked at.
