While changing the hydraulic oil and filters on the semi-new to us 8030 this weekend I think I found something wrong. I am 90% sure that when I pulled the two filters the bypass valve was installed on the right filter instead of the left filter per both the owners manual and instruction sheet that came with the AGCO filters. If I am correct by my fuzzy memory, what kind of damage could have been done?

Don't think the cap from right side will open valve on left far enough to let enough oil in to work properly. If it opened enough the only problem would be if filter pluged, the pump would not get any oil. MACK

Mack, I wondered about the same thing and the cap from the right side is a lot longer than the by-pass valve because of the coil spring that is on the end, so I think the valve was opened and the coil spring was just compressed a lot. I just wish I could remeber for sure how it was when I opened it up. I pulled the cap and valve to wash in gas and set elswhere to dry, then I wasn't possitive anymore where they came from. Although I am pretty sure they were wrong.

It won't work properly if you have them switched and you'll know as soon as you start the tractor.
