I personally think its better to run the wheels in narrowing the rear end as much as possible . This is the reason I never ran fenders to couldnt fasten them for the tire .

I always try to set the wheels out a little, if u look at others they are always about the same ;; moving out gets u in a different track

I pulled my IHC "C" once, my uncle said that with the wheels all the way out, the spring of the axels would help you pull more, so I put my wheels all the way out, we were pulling on concrete, dead weight. A friend brought his IHC "C" with it's wheels all the way in. I asked him why, he said he figured that way the wheels would be inside the burned rubber on the track that others had left on the concrete. I beat him and got second place. A Supper C beat me.

narrow is going to be better.  Most places will require fenders, but I suppose if you can't go verry fast than one could run without them.

Most Farmall or JD's don't have fenders around here.

I set mine in as close as I can. The antique pull guide has some info on the science of it.

theyre required if they were standard equipment. Back in the early Farmall and John Deere days fenders were an option.
